Mu Alpha Theta is a National Math Club within CMHS Math Club (for high school students taking Math 3 or above, maintain a B average in math, and $10 lifetime membership fee).
General Math Club member may join Mu Alpha Theta once they are enrolled in Math 3 or above.

Math Club:
• Anyone can join!
• Meets after school in Mrs. D. Hunter’s room (2102) once every other week to socialize, play games, challenge each other with mathematical comprehension, participate in volunteer opportunities.
• Participate in local and national math competitions (some are free, and some have entrance fees).
• Offer opportunities to win scholarships through math competitions or direct application.

Mu Alpha Theta:
• Participates in the above activities with all other math club members.
• Provides a method for schools to recognize and encourage students who enjoy and excel in mathematics.
• Rewards outstanding extracurricular achievement by offering special awards, scholarships, and grants to students.
• Provides mathematics competitions to participating members at their own school.
• Provide graduation honors cords for members with a B math average.

Science OlympiadLaurie BlockerScience Olympiad is a school wide educational/competitive club that fulls under the national Science Olympiad umbrella. It employs cross-cutting concepts in all of its standards-aligned events, building 21st century skill sets essential to today’s science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) workforce. There are 23 events each in Division B (middle school) and Division C (high school), providing a platform for students to apply and display a wide variety of talents, from design and prototyping, to technical writing, to chemistry lab skills. A team of 15 students pairs up to tackle the 23 events which are generally spaced in six 50-minute blocks across a Saturday, encouraging collaboration, teamwork and cross-training.
