AP TESTING

THE ABOVE FORM IS REQUIRED TO BE COMPLETED BY AP STUDENTS/PARENTS.  THIS FORM STATES THAT YOU UNDERSTAND HOW TO SIGN UP FOR YOUR EXAM ON COLLEGEBOARD.ORG, WHEN IT IS, WHAT FEES YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IF YOU ARE LATE OR ABSENT FOR YOUR EXAM, ETC.  THIS FORM DOES NOT SIGN YOU UP TO TAKE THE EXAM.  YOUR AP TEACHER WILL SHOW YOU HOW TO SIGN UP ON THE COLLEGE BOARD WEBSITE FOR YOUR EXAM. *PLEASE SIGN IN TO YOUR CABARRUS COUNTY SCHOOL APPS ACCOUNT TO ACCESS THE SIGN-UP FORM.

Advanced Placement Testing

ADVANCED PLACEMENT (AP) COURSES ARE COLLEGE LEVEL CLASSES OFFERED TO HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO RECEIVE COLLEGE CREDIT.

Each AP Exam costs $96.00.  The State of North Carolina and NC DPI budgets to cover this initial fee.

If you cannot make the regularly scheduled test date due to an AP approved absence, you will be responsible for the late testing fee. 

  • Ms. Simulcik can help determine if your absence from a regularly scheduled exam meets late testing criteria.
  • Late Testing Fees are due to Ms. Deal by March 30th so a late test can be ordered for the student.
  • All checks must be made payable to Cox Mill High School with the students full name in the memo.

AP exams begin on Monday May 6, 2024, and continue through Friday May 17, 2024. Testing will be primarily conducted in the AUX Gym with separate room testing in the AOIT room.  These locations will be provided to the students prior to the exam date.

Students taking morning exams should arrive at school no later than 7:15am and report to their test room,

  • Once completing their morning AP exams students will report to t heir afternoon classes and are not excused for the rest of the day.

Students taking afternoon exams should report to their test room by 11:15am

  • Students taking afternoon exams should report to their morning classes prior to their afternoon AP exam and are not excused from morning classes.

AP Exam Late Testing Schedule

Before the Exam:

  • Read the AP Bulletin.  You can also obtain a copy from your AP teacher.
  • Know When & Where your exam will be.
  • Review the Calculator Policy if your exam requires/ allows a calculator.  CMHS will NOT provide calculators.

Exam Day Do's

  • Arrive at the check in time noted above.
  • Bring your photo ID.  School ID's can be obtained in the Media Center by May 1st.
  • Bring your allowed calculator to your exam.  CMHS will NOT provide calculators.
  • Dress in layers.  Some rooms can be cool.
  • Eat a good breakfast/ lunch prior to your exam.

Exam Day Don'ts

  • Do NOT bring your cell phone, smart watch, or any electronic devices (except an approved calculator.)  Accessing these items during the exam will have you dismissed from the test.
  • Do NOT forget your photo ID.  You cannot be admitted to take the exam if you do not have a photo ID.
  • Do NOT arrive late for the exam.  Students arriving for the exam late will not be admitted.
  • Do NOT forget your calculator.  CMHS will NOT provide calculators for these exams.*
