We hope you had a wonderful Labor Day weekend! As we continue into September, we have several important senior updates and upcoming opportunities:
🏫 Senior Family Night | September 9 | 5:30–6:30 PM
Mark your calendar for our upcoming Senior Family Night on Wednesday, September 9 from 5:30–6:30 p.m.
This will be an opportunity for senior families to learn more about important senior-year timelines, college planning, applications, and next steps.
🎓 Senior Conferences
Thank you to all of our students who participated in senior conferences last week! Students received an updated transcript and had the opportunity to review their graduation progress, GPA, and plans for life after high school.If students didn't attend a senior conference, please make sure you attend the make-up session on Tuesday, September 8 during 3rd Block (10:36–11:20 a.m.). All students that missed senior conferences have been notified via email.
🎓 NC College Connect
The NC College Connect portal opens September 15! NC College Connect is a direct admissions program with participating North Carolina colleges and universities. Through the program, eligible students can explore college opportunities and may receive direct admissions offers from participating institutions. If you don't have a 2.8 GPA but you're on track to graduate you'll be automatically admitted to local community colleges.

💰 Scholarships
Scholarship season is underway! Seniors should regularly check the CMHS Scholarship Announcements for current scholarship opportunities, including eligibility requirements, deadlines, and application information.
New Scholarship Opportunities:
- NC Teaching Fellows – A scholarship and loan-forgiveness program for students interested in pursuing a teaching career in North Carolina.
- Goodnight Scholars – A scholarship opportunity for eligible students planning to attend NC State University.
- Common App Matching Scholarships – Seniors completing the Common App should check their scholarship-matching opportunities to identify scholarships that may align with their profile and interests.
