Parent Letter–WorkKeys Testing2022-2023
1355 Cox Mill Rd. Concord, NC 28027
Dear Parent or Guardian:
The ACT WorkKeys assessment will be given free of charge to all North
Carolina students who are considered Career and Technical Education (CTE)
concentrators. WorkKeys is part of North Carolina’s school accountability
program and is a state mandated test, so all concentrators are required to take the test.
The WorkKeys assessment is designed to measure students’ career
readiness as they prepare to enter the workforce. WorkKeys assesses
students’ abilities in three core areas: Applied Math, Graphic Literacy, and
Workplace Documents. Students’ performance in these areas is meant to
demonstrate their abilities to potential employers using standardized,
quantitative metrics. There are four certification levels: Platinum, Gold,
Silver, and Bronze.
If you have questions or concerns about WorkKeys, please contact Katherine Simulcik at Katherine.Simulcik@cabarrus.k12.nc.us or Kristal Dellinger at kristal.dellinger@cabarrus.k12.nc.us
Sincerely,
Kathy Simulcik, Testing Coordinator
Kristal Dellinger, CTE Coordinator
