Has your high school senior decided what to do after graduation yet? There's still time and money for them to pursue a college degree with the new Next NC Scholarship. All they need to do is fill out the FAFSA to see what money they could receive.

The Next NC Scholarship is a gamechanger for helping more students pursue a college degree. The details: 

  • This new scholarship is designed to cover the cost of tuition and fees at any community college, or to cover half (if not all!) the cost of tuition and fees at any public university in the state.
  • That’s at least $3,000 per year to attend any of North Carolina’s 58 community colleges or $5,000 per year to attend any of the state’s 16 public universities. 
  • Funding can be applied toward tuition, fees, books, food, and housing—and doesn’t have to be repaid.
  • Most North Carolina students from households making $80,000 or less are eligible. 
  • Students should submit your FAFSA by the Next NC Scholarship priority filing date, August 15, 2024, for UNC System schools and for NC community colleges.
