Registration

Getting Started

Registration 2024 kicks off with Program Choice events for Rising 9th Graders.  Students and families will find helpful information here and on other high school and district webpages. We look forward to working with you!

Step 1: Registration Information

Step One in the process of registering for your classes for 2024-25 involves educating and empowering yourself. The following video is an informational video that will provide with a great starting point for your registration journey.

During this video, you will...

  • Receive an overview from administration and academic teachers.
  • Learn about the differences between middle school and high school.
  • Review graduation requirements.
  • Understand the remaining steps of the Registration 2024 process.

Step 2: Materials and Planning

In Step Two, you will review important information, resources and tools you need to make wise course choices for next year. The best way to complete this step is to download the checklist below and complete each item. Come back to this page often during the process. The resources on this page help you to:

  • know requirements
  • know your progress
  • know your choices
  • know best practice

You will do the most important work in this step. You will make a plan by assessing where you are and what comes next. You should revisit (and possibly revise) this plan each year as you and your interests grow and change.

  1. Download the Graduation Requirement Checklist & 4-Year Plan linked below.
  2. Use PowerSchool to review the courses you've already taken.
  3. Complete and save your Graduation Requirement Checklist & 4-Year Plan.
  4. Review your plans with your parent/guardian before finalizing your courses.
  5. Use your 4-Year Plan to select your classes in PowerSchool.

Step 3: Select and Review

Step Three is where you put your courses into our Registration GoogleForm. Do not complete this step until you have reviewed Steps 1 & 2.

  1. Consult with your current teachers and middle school counselor as needed.
  2. Discuss your course selections with your parents before registering.
  3. Use your Graduation Checklist & 4-Year Plan from Step 3 to guide you.
  4. Submit your course requests using the Registration Google Form below by MARCH 15, 2024
  5. Remember, counselors will be on your campus to finalize your course selections and have you add them to PowerSchool.

Step 4: Hang Tight and Be Patient!

  • Once you have selected your courses in the GoogleForm above, you have done all you can do at this point! Congratulations!
  • What's Next?
    • Counselors will visit Harris Road Middle School on March 22nd to have students add their courses into the PowerSchool system, make any adjustments and ask any last questions to counselors before submitting them.
  • Parents: Due to CMHS Counselors working on high school and rising 9th grade registrations, simultaneously, we are unable to entertain individual registration meetings. Students will have the opportunity to speak with counselors multiple times throughout the registration process. We ask that all questions happen during those times. If you happen to have questions outside of those times, please email your 8th grade counselor and they can assist. Thank you so much for your understanding!
  • Students: We thank you for following our registration process and look forward to meeting each of you in the upcoming weeks!
